Excellent as a reference

This book is intended to be a textbook for drafting students (high school, maybe college). I bought it as a reference book for CAD work, however, and it has been useful.

It covers some hand drafting subjects, CAD, and subjects that are applicable to either. Some of the topics include GD&T, weld symbols, gears, fasteners, and bearings.

For learning and for general reference, I'd recommend it.

Now in its fourth edition this text is a must for all physiotherapy students. The chapters are well laid out, and all of the information is explained in an easily understandable way. This new edition provides the most up to date information for clinical practice from paediatrics through to the elderly. Chapter six is particularly useful, it provides the reader with case studies and then works through a logical way of problem solving along with introducing the reader to specific outcome measures.

All in all a must have text!!!!

This book is a must have for respiratory learning as it is clear and concise and contains both adults and paediatric care. The clear diagrams make it easier to learn and the chapters cover core subjects for example assessments, techniques, paediatrics, ventilation and many more. Throughout the authors have made small summary physio points which will be useful when revising for a particular topic. The authors have also used flow charts and pictures to put across some of the information which is very useful for visual learners. I would very much recommend this book as it contains all of the information needed for respiratory at university and during your career.

Overall this is a good all-round, evidence based resource to use whilst studying or if newly qualified that covers all the main aspects of respiratory and cardiac physiotherapy. It is a great place to start when writing case studies in this field. This book is structured in the familiar style that we have come to know Elsevier for: a logical and clear design that is well laid out with the text presented in a variety of formats and supported with photographs, drawings and diagrams. The sections covering surgery, again provide good information for the student, particularly things like commonly used drugs and side effects, terminology and common procedures that are likely to be encountered. Finally, there are a number of handy images stored online that can be used in your presentations but perhaps this facility would have been better with a few more resources available, such as quizzes or tests to assess knowledge.

As a 1st year physiotherapy student, I've been able to use this book to understand the pathophysiology of cardiorespiratory problems as well as their clinical management. It's also well structured, beginning with the assessment of a cardiorespiratory patient and covering assessment tests and techniques and their interpretation. I also like that it has separate sections for paediatrics and adults and also has a good overview of types of surgery.

I feel that this book is not only useful to me now but will be essential when I go on placement, as a reference to clarify and build on my day-to-day learning. I would recommend this text to anyone looking for a good overall cardiorespiratory text.

About the Author
Pryor was until recently Head of Physiotherapy at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust , London - Britain's leading chest and heart hospital. She is now a research fellow there and is combining work on research with the latest in clinical practice. She was co-editor to the first two editions of this book.Prasad was a contributor to the previous edition of this book. Her specialist area of practice is with children with cystic fibrosis. Like Pryor she is working as a researcher in a centre of clinical excellence.Both authors have given papers at international meetings for both doctors and physical therapists.

"Client Encounters" is a must read for anyone involved with Technical Sales. There are lots of sales books/trainings available today, but Andy's book really resonates with those in technical sales, yet many of the concepts could also be applied to any customer facing sales person. The book is a quick read focusing on simple, yet effective, concepts that really make you stop and "think" about how you engage with your customers and how you could make those engagements more focused, efficient, and effective. Putting the ICON9 concepts to practice on a daily basis is what will develop expertise, but the simplicity of the concepts themselves eliminates feeling overwhelmed.

What I like about this book is that it does not push ...

In my experience of running large technology and engineering companies, there has always been a 'tension' between the 'techies' and the commercial teams - and there should be - it's healthy. What I like about this book is that it does not push engineers into behaviours that they would not be comfortable with - overt sales postures, for example. Rather, it gives them the means to contribute to commercial goals in a way that is likely to suit them. So it’s a great companion for people in the engineering or technical disciplines seeking to improve the commercial aspect of their work. I hope people enjoy it as much as I have. A "must read" book for any engineer working with customers

I've been managing sales teams worldwide for 20 years, including hundreds of customer support engineers. I've seen many books for training salespeople, but this is the first time I see a book which really addresses the specific needs of the field engineers. Andrew manages to cover the different aspects of the engineers role and interaction with the customer very well, giving excellent advice, but even more important - the book is very easy to read, written and edited to look like "light" reading with many good examples, so that you enjoy reading it and finish it before you notice it.

Only for die hard fans that want everything

Jennifer Warner's paperback and e-book seems to be a beginners' guide to the group, aimed at Jersey Boys audiences who might be curious to know more. It's among a large number of unofficial bios in the independent Life Cap series.

This is not even a good writing job and I am starting to wonder if the author's name Jennifer Warner is even real. The whole thing sounds like it was sourced from the Internet (verified by the bibliography) and nothing appears to be fact checked. Frankie's name is spelled Fran20cesco Stephen Castelluccio. No it's not my typo it has a 20 in the middle of his first name.

The Kindle version is about than 40 pages and each Kindle page is about 1/3 the size of a usual book, so it's really not much more than a pamphlet.

This story was seriously hot and steamy as two unsuspecting nubile young women slowly become turned into bimbos because of a dangerous bimbo app. Ahhh, technology - those geeks are definitely getting their revenge and their way with a lot of unresisting female flesh.
